Job Title: Quality Manager
Department: Quality
Summary Plans, coordinates, and directs quality program designed to ensure quality control and quality assurance of the production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises employees in the Quality Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned
- Formulates and maintains quality objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
- Interprets quality philosophy to key personnel in organization.
- Utilizes Key Performance Indicators to effectively track, monitor, and implement required corrective/improvement activities related to business plan, goals, issues, etc.
- Manages and drives the Corrective/Preventive Action process.
- Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
- Plans and oversees the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component.
- Performs reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
- Represents the company during customer visits and surveys, and during meetings and presentations at the customer’s location.
- Reviews all data obtained during all quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures.
- Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
- Prepares and presents technical and program information to the management team.
- Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
- Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards.
- Designs and implements quality training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers.
- Knowledge of PLEX ERP system desired.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management, or business. Minimum 8 years’ experience as a quality assurance engineer, manager or equivalent experience and 2 years management experience, or equal combination of education and experience.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
