What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant position at Atonement Lutheran Church?
General Duties: Responsible for general administrative duties needed within our church to support ongoing activities within our church and congregation, managing the church office with limited supervision.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answer phones during regular church office hours and direct calls appropriately.
- Support Sunday worship with bulletins and projection slides.
- Coordinate weekly email communication to congregation and monthly newsletter
- Maintain volunteer schedules for roles that are needed for our Sunday worship.
- Support the Church Council and their monthly meeting resources.
- Support the Church Treasurer in managing day to day financial needs.
- Support our Sunday School ministry by coordinating curricula, volunteer teachers and maintaining records.
- Manage congregational database.
- Compile the Annual Report
- Be a gracious point of contact for members and visitors, helping them with their needs.

- Able to maintain a professional, welcoming workplace. Able to maintain a gracious, positive, helpful and supportive approach in all conversations with staff, churchmembers and the community, treating all people with respect and humility, maintaining confidentiality.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher
- Working knowledge of specific presentation software such as Proclaim is helpful
- Knowledge of basic office equipment
- Strong organizational skills, communication skills, attention to detail
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.56 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
