Purpose of the Role
The Project Coordinator ensures the effective management and oversight of construction projects, focusing on contractor performance, project accuracy, quality, safety, and adherence to schedules. This role supports smooth site operations, compliance with regulatory standards, and successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Oversight: Supervise all on-site construction activities to meet project plans, specifications, and timelines. Ensure safety, quality, and budget compliance.
- Workflow Coordination: Manage job site logistics, staging plans, and daily operations. Facilitate communication between project managers, subcontractors, vendors, and engineers.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain project records, including safety reports, daily progress updates, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and billing paperwork.
- Safety and Compliance: Promote and enforce safety standards on-site. Address and rectify hazards promptly to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Scheduling and Planning: Collaborate with the Project Director to maintain and adjust construction schedules. Participate in pre-construction and site meetings.
- Procurement Support: Coordinate material and supply orders with the Procurement team, ensuring accurate documentation of all transactions.
- Site Inspections: Conduct regular inspections and meetings to identify issues, implement solutions, and maintain open communication with stakeholders.
- Operational Flexibility: Duties and responsibilities may be adjusted based on operational needs or at the discretion of management.
- General Duties: Maintain a clean and organized job site, support visitors, manage office supplies, and perform other assigned tasks.
Qualifications
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction management or supervision.
- Certifications:
- OSHA-30 and CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred).
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in construction/project management software and CAD.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
- Additional Skills:
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities.
- Time management and multitasking skills.
- Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Work Requirements
- Travel: Willingness to travel to various construction sites.
- Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform occasional walking or manual tasks.
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working with computers.
- Clear vision for reading, analyzing data, and viewing drawings.
- Work Environment:
