Talent Acquisition Specialist
Position Summary:
Attract and recruit top talent for Barrett Firearms while creating a positive candidate experience.
The Talent Acquisition Specialist will work closely with hiring managers and other groups as needed to identify, recommend, develop and implement the companies strategic plan.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Collaborates with Director of HR to ensure that business activities align with the Group and Business strategy.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with hiring managers.
- Proactively source, screen, interview, and refer top candidates to hiring managers. Actively participate in selection decisions and the offer process.
- Check references on potential hires, extend offers to select candidates, and prepare new hire material as needed.
- Maintain job posting system; compile and analyze data as needed.
- Proactively consult with hiring manager and human resources to develop recruitment sourcing strategies for open positions.
- Execute effective recruitment strategy meeting with hiring manager and/or HR support to establish agreed upon recruitment timeline; execute against timeline while effectively influence decisions and outcomes.
- Network to solicit referrals and other passive candidates to establish and grow a database of potential talent for Barrett.
- Maintain solid relationships with candidates; positively influence candidates offer acceptance by marketing the NIOA and Barrett Brand and Employer of Choice work culture.
- Evaluate recruitment market and create position-based and market-based recruitment strategies for common, hard to fill, and key positions. Communicate findings with hiring managers and HR support staff and execute agreed upon strategies.
- Establish relationships with professional organizations, university relations, recruitment firms, and referral sources to develop diverse and qualified candidate slates.
- Develop recruitment tools for hiring managers.
- Perform all duties in accordance with safety and government rules and regulations (OFCCP, DOL, EEO, local, state, and federal laws, etc.).
- Perform other duties as necessary.
Qualifications Requirements
- Any combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this postion
- Able to prioritize and accomplish multiple projects, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve common problems.
- Must possess excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Ability to work with people in a courteous, positive, and professional manner.
Education and/or Experience
Five (5) years experience of being responsible for recruitment and human resources management experience. Manufacturing or related industry preferred with a Degree in HR and/or Business related field.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from auditors, managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Computer Skill
Ability to learn new software and database programs as necessary. Highly proficient with Microsoft Office environment, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience using H.R.I.S. Financial software experience is an asset; Great Plains preferred. Ability to learn new software and database programs as necessary.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form. Able to understand, recall and follow complex compliance regulations.
Travel
Some travel may be required such as for job fairs, colleges and TCAT campuses, and conferences for continuous education.
Appearance and Demeanor
Must maintain professional dress, grooming and demeanor at all times to appropriately represent the company.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Maintain valid driver’s license. Maintain eligibility to work with firearms under state and federal guidelines. Maintain valid US Passport.
HR certifications (SHRM- CP, PHR) is preferred.
