What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Preconstruction position at Cardella Construction Company?
Cardella Construction Company is looking for a passionate, hard-working, energetic, and highly-motivated Director of Preconstruction to join our growing team. The primary responsibilities of a Preconstruction Director include management of preconstruction team, overseeing the successful completion of all preconstruction projects, and serving as the lead for project financials, risk management, and client relations.
What you'll be up to:
- Development of preconstruction team
- Departmental workload management
- Collaborate with ownership and design teams to understand project goals
- Review all project documents for completeness and accuracy in order to help facilitate the design process
- Develop preconstruction schedule and monitor progress
- Develop scope for trade packages and vet subs to ensure compliance with Contract Documents
- Perform quantity take-offs and detailed plan reviews
- Write and execute applicable subcontracts and purchase orders
- Assist in development of the project estimate and owner proposal
- Collaborate with operations team on budget development
- Present job cost, scheduling updates and budget updates
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Construction Management or equivalent combination of onsite training
- 10 years of working experience in construction industry
- Working knowledge of Procore, Bluebeam, MS Office required
- Hard-working, motivated and passionate individual
This role will sit out of our headquarters in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. Occasional travel to job sites may be required.
