Position Summary: A Recreation Attendant is responsible for ensuring a pleasant and efficient experience for patrons at the recreation facilities, including the ice rink, pools, gym, and spa. This role involves managing the register, maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the facilities, and assisting with activities and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cashier Duties:
- Operate the register at the ice rink.
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and provide receipts to patrons.
- Balance the register at the beginning and end of shifts.
- Provide accurate information about services, pricing, and schedules.
- Pool Maintenance:
- Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of indoor and outdoor pools.
- Ensure pool water quality by testing and adjusting chemical levels.
- Inspect pool equipment for safety and functionality.
- Report any maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Facility Cleanliness:
- Maintain the cleanliness of the pools, gym, and spa areas.
- Regularly sanitize high-touch surfaces and restock supplies as needed.
- Ensure locker rooms and common areas are clean and orderly.
- Patron Flow Management:
- Ensure a smooth flow of patrons entering and exiting the pool, gym, and spa.
- Monitor facility capacity and enforce entry regulations.
- Assist with crowd control during peak times and special events.
- Activity Assistance:
- Assist in organizing and facilitating daily activities for patrons, including crafts, games, and special events.
- Set up and take down equipment and supplies for activities.
- Encourage patron participation and provide support during activities.
- Customer Service:
- Answer patrons' questions and provide information about the facilities and services.
- Resolve customer complaints swiftly and professionally according to company guidelines.
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by being attentive, friendly, and responsive to patrons' needs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a customer service or recreational facility role is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of pool maintenance and safety procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and handle stressful situations.
- Basic proficiency in operating a cash register and handling transactions.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move equipment and supplies up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a wet and humid environment around pools.
Working Conditions:
- Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- The role involves working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
Reports To:
- Recreation Manager or designated supervisor.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 32 per week
