Position Overview:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for all maintenance activities related to the vineyard, winery facilities, restaurant, and villas. This role ensures the smooth operation of daily maintenance tasks, preventive care, and repairs, while upholding safety standards and maximizing the efficiency of the property. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of building and machinery maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Rental Homes & Property Maintenance: Respond promptly to management and tenant maintenance requests. Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to reduce long-term repair costs.
- Facility and Equipment Maintenance: The routine and preventive maintenance of all facilities, including HVAC systems, water irrigation, pest control systems, and winemaking equipment.
- Vineyard Support: Assist with the upkeep and repairs of vineyard infrastructure, including trellising systems, fences, irrigation lines, spraying, and other vineyard-specific tools and machinery.
- Scheduling and Planning: Develop and execute maintenance schedules to ensure the timely upkeep of all vineyard and winery equipment. Prioritize tasks to minimize downtime and disruptions.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues, coordinating with external vendors or internal teams for repairs as needed.
- Inventory Management: Manage the inventory of tools, parts, and equipment, ensuring that all materials are stocked and ordered when necessary.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements, promoting a safe and efficient working environment.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed logs of maintenance activities, equipment service records, and any related expenses.
- Budgeting: Assist in creating and managing the maintenance department’s budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities where possible.
- Emergency Response: Respond to urgent maintenance needs and after-hours issues when required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance supervision, preferably in rental management, agriculture, viticulture, or winery environments.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Experience with vineyard-specific equipment, such as tractors, sprayers, and harvesters, is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a team effectively.
- Familiarity with OSHA standards and safety regulations.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to operate heavy machinery is preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and peak seasons.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as bending, lifting, and operating heavy machinery.
