Cinfed is searching for an Accounting Specialist based in Cincinnati, OH at the Oakley Headquarters.
POSITION PURPOSE:
To support the financial management and operations of the credit union through maintenance of accounting records and reports. Performs a wide variety of advanced accounting work.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assumes responsibility for performing assigned accounting and related clerical support functions, including:
- reconciling daily and monthly bank accounts, posting to and balancing general or subsidiary ledgers
- backing up accounts payable specialist
- balancing Daily/Monthly GL reconciliations, investment entries, and monthly accrual entries
- processing payments and compiling segments of monthly closings, and monthly and annual reports
- identifying and correcting errors, or calling members, credit union employees or representatives from other financial institutions to reconcile differences
- verifying accuracy, completeness and consistency of accounting information received
- preparing reports on complex budget or income and expenditures records by department
- Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication and coordination with Credit Union employees and management
- Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned, including:
- ensuring that work area is clean, secure, and well-maintained
- completing special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Two-year college degree or two years of related experience is preferred
- Must be proficient in computer applications (specifically Microsoft Excel)
- Have a thorough understanding of accounting concepts, practices, and procedures
