Job Description
We are seeking an office assistant/bookkeeper to join the CK team here in Schaumburg. As an office assistant/bookkeeper, you will have the responsibility of working with financial management software to ensure up-to-date and accurate company accounts - including, but not limited to, the monitoring and categorization of daily transactions. This position requires strong comprehension of bookkeeping and financial management practices, if this describes your abilities we encourage you to apply for this position and join our family!
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the day-to-day operation of the office and help to improve company practices.
- Handle & direct incoming calls to the appropriate team-member.
- Welcome in-office visitors in a friendly manner.
- Accurately inputting data into computer systems from various sources like invoices, purchase orders, and customer information.
- Administer bookkeeping functions.
- Maintain company transactions and accounts within financial management software.
- Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
- Maintaining organized digital and physical filing systems, including document scanning and indexing.
- Monitor accounts for discrepancies and suspicious activity.
- Communicate with the company accountant when needed.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Proficiency in Windows, accounting programs, and other related software.
- Experience in QuickBooks/bookkeeping preferred.
- Ability to apply analytical skills, creative problem solving, and conflict resolution to daily tasks.
- Self-motivation with the initiative to take on a variety of tasks.
- An ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Knowledge of the construction industry is a plus.
