Club Manager position available at The Bailiwick Club in Greenwich Connecticut. The Bailiwick Club was established 50 years ago as a member owned club situated in scenic back country Greenwich that offers members swimming and tennis. It is situated on seven acres with an Olympic pool, 6 tennis courts, 3 paddle courts and 4 pickleball courts. It offers swim and tennis teams as well as multiple options for lessons.
General Purpose:
Directs and oversees all aspects of club or facility including its activities and relationships between members, guests, associates and the community. Has the ultimate responsibility for maximum member/guest satisfaction and financial performance. Is the leader of all Departments and is experienced in leading the amenities and membership operation and sales.
- Management and supervisory duties of all departments of the club including but is not limited to: Facilities, membership, F&B, Racquet Sports, and Swimming.
- Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Prepares and monitors annual budget, revenue goals and the expenses for all departments as well as generating various (weekly, monthly etc.) business volume forecasts then planning and adjusting as needed to stay on budget.
- Have a complete understanding of all revenue generated through the swim and tennis programs as well as ensuring revenue is properly recorded into POS system and reconciled daily.
- Research vendor opportunities, pricing, service, and evaluates vendor relationships to the benefit of the facility.
- Help the board to develop 1, 3 and 5 year plans, monitoring market conditions that may impact business volume, and budgeting during those times.
- Responsible for the club calendar to creation and implement of a member/guest experience.
- Oversees the marketing and membership departments and is responsible for membership drives, promotions, tours, sales, and meeting membership.
- Develops, maintains and administers a sound organizational plan and initiates maintenance improvements as necessary.
- Ensure that the CDM essential programming guide is activated in its entirety at your club.
- Regular and reliable attendance is required, creating a regular schedule of hours that you are on-site and schedule a point of contact when away.
- Completes all items of the Director checklist in the time required with regards to monthly/weekly reports, ordering or procedures and submission protocols for club operations.
Desired Characteristics:
- Knowledge of running both Tennis and Swim programs
- Knowledge of the upkeep of tennis courts and chemicals for pools.
- Accounting, bookkeeping and budgeting skills
- Willing to take a hands-on approach to many basic organizational tasks.
- Event planning experience
- Excited to help with the growth and renovation project planned at the club over the next 5 years.
This position will require the applicant to be in the premises most days as well as holidays and weekends in the summer. You will also need to attend evening board meetings.
The Salary range for this position is $80,000-$100,000 plus commission.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (BA); or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Multi-course facilities may require more experience.)

Regularly stands, walks and sits. Occasionally may climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches, tastes or smells. Regularly uses hands to finger, feel or handle, reaches with arms and hands, talks or hears. Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
