Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Sheetmetal Foreman to join our dynamic team. As a Sheetmetal Foreman, you will oversee the installation and repair of sheet metal systems, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. You will manage a team of skilled sheet metal workers and work closely with project managers, engineers, and other trades to meet project objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of sheetmetal installers and fabricators.
- Plan, coordinate, and assign daily tasks to team members to ensure work is completed on schedule.
- Ensure sheetmetal work is installed according to blueprints, specifications, and code requirements.
- Monitor work progress, quality, and safety standards on job sites.
- Ensure the team adheres to all safety protocols and OSHA guidelines.
- Conduct quality control inspections on completed work.
- Provide training and mentorship to less experienced team members.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, other foremen, and subcontractors.
- Order materials and maintain inventory to ensure smooth workflow.
- Troubleshoot and resolve on-site challenges related to sheetmetal installation.
- Maintain accurate project records, including labor and material usage.
Qualifications:
- experience in sheetmetal fabrication and installation.
- experience in a supervisory role, leading a team of sheetmetal workers.
- Strong knowledge of blueprints, drawings, and job specifications.
- Proficient in operating sheet metal tools and equipment .
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and regulations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- High school diploma or GED (technical certifications preferred).
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with HVAC systems and commercial construction projects.
- Certification in welding or other specialized sheet metal work.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
