About Us:
Flynn Brothers Contracting, Inc. is a leading construction company in the Louisville, KY area. Flynn Brothers specializes in heavy civil, site work, utility installation, and asphalt paving. We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented AR/AP Clerk to join our accounting team. This role is crucial in managing our financial transactions, ensuring efficient payment processes in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable (AR):
- Monitor outstanding accounts, track retention balances, and follow up on overdue payments.
- Generate aging reports and assist with cash flow forecasting.
- Reconcile AR accounts, apply payments, and manage customer account setups and credit checks.
- Prepare deposits and maintain accurate records of transactions.
- Assist in month-end closing processes and account reconciliations.
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to support audit and reporting requirements.
- Back-up for receptionist
- Assist with special projects and tasks as assigned.
Accounts Payable (AP):
- Assist with vendor invoices, verify accuracy, and ensure timely payments.
- Match purchase orders, invoices, and receiving documents.
- Assist with monitoring accounts to ensure timely payment and resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Assist with maintaining vendor records and manage vendor inquiries.
- Various other AP duties as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable, preferably in the construction industry.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Vista) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
