Who We Are

Golden Queen Mining Co., LLC (the “Company”) operates a gold and silver, open pit, heap leach operation on its Soledad Mountain property, located just outside the town of Mojave in Kern County in southern California. The Project uses conventional open pit mining methods and the cyanide heap leach and Merrill-Crowe processes to recover gold and silver from crushed, agglomerated ore.

Who You Are

You have 10 or more years of supervisory and planning experience in the mining or quarry industry. Your background includes hands-on experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or maintenance supervisor. You have at least five years of experience as a junior maintenance planner. You have a strong knowledge of equipment and software programs. You thrive in a busy environment, managing multiple priorities and tasks concurrently, and effectively meet deadlines. You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

This is a safety sensitive position. As the Senior Maintenance Planner, you report to the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent.

What You Do

• Develop, implement, and maintain an effective maintenance planning strategy for all mobile mining equipment. 
• Develop and implement a strong maintenance business process including predictive maintenance programs, preventative maintenance programs, and equipment maintenance best practices.
• Develop and oversee maintenance budgeting activities and analyze maintenance costs and maintenance spend.
• Develop and promote a “Continuous Improvement” philosophy within the maintenance execution teams, vendors, contractors, and the Mine Operations department. 
• Develop, train, and manage staff of subordinate Mobile Maintenance planners and reliability personnel. 
• Develop a good working relationship with vendors for sourcing parts and supplies. 
• Manage logistics and oversee the erection, assembly, and commissioning of any new mining equipment in conjunction with the selling vendor to ensure smooth transition processes. 
• Monitor and ensure weekly maintenance schedules are built, agreed to, and sent out in a timely fashion. 
• Set priorities for Mobile Maintenance planners as to which fleets of equipment they are to maintain for short-term planning, long-term planning, and forecasting. 
• Plan and schedule weekly planning priorities based on parts availability, manpower, budget approvals, and adherence to mine planning requirements. 
• Strong commitment to safety and environmental policies, procedures, and regulations regarding all maintenance planning activities.
• Stay current with industry’s best practices and technological, state-of-the-art advances for equipment maintenance and repair. 
• Assist the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent and Mobile Maintenance General Foreman and backfill as necessary.
• Work closely with the Warehouse and Purchasing Group to procure maintenance supplies from stock or direct charge with a focus on in-time delivery, to meet scheduling guidelines. 
• Work closely with subordinate planners and assist with building Bill of Material (BOM) lists for frequent repair activities. 
• Work closely with leadership to ensure reactive maintenance is opened and closed properly and that non-reactive work is being funneled correctly to the appropriate planner for each of their fleet of equipment. 
• Work closely with leadership to ensure proper maintenance is being performed as scheduled and report on no-compliant issues with a focus on preventing future delays.
• Responsible for building and distributing the weekly, monthly and annual maintenance KPI reports. 
• Ensure a clean and safe working environment for all personnel, and full compliance with all directives and regulations on safety, health, and the environment.
• Performs any other responsibilities related to the Planner roles as required or as assigned by the department head. 

What You Bring

• Ten plus years of supervisory and planning experience in the mining or quarry Industry. 
• Five or more years of experience as a junior maintenance planner.
• Hands-on experience as a heavy equipment mechanic and/or maintenance supervisor. 
• Proficient knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, etc.).
• Knowledge of CAT SIS and Komatsu programs.
• Experience in CMMS, ERP software programs (i.e., Oracle, SAP, Ellipse, Pronto, etc.). 
• In-depth knowledge of similar mine mobile equipment strategies, components, and planning structures.
• In-depth knowledge of mine site standards, policies, procedures, and processes. 
• Able to adapt to changes in the environment including the ability to manage competing demands and deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events. 
• Able to manage multiple priorities and tasks concurrently and meeting deadlines. 
• Able to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others inside and outside the department. 
• Able to work independently as well as able to ensure subordinate planners are on the correct path. 
• Able to implement planned maintenance programs for mobile mining equipment.
• Able to present information in a clear and understandable manner.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and interviewing skills, including managing situations that involve sensitive and confidential matters. 
• Willing and able to work shifts if needed. 
• Driver’s license.

Salary : $83,883 - $125,825
