SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Human Resources Coordinator will perform various administrative duties for the Human Resources Department.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
This position reports directly to the Human Resources Director. This is a non-supervisory position. This position has frequent contact with department heads, county employees, outside representatives and the general public.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receives phone calls and visitors in a friendly and efficient manner, assists the general public with information regarding job openings, questions relating to applications and provides information for employment references and verifications.
- Receives and processes online applications and forwards them to department heads.
- Assist the Employee Benefits Administrators with reconciliation of bills and maintaining medical files for county personnel.
- Assists maintaining the Human Resources Guadalupe County web page.
- Receives, date stamps, prioritizes and distributes departmental mail.
- Completes information for employees changes such as addresses, retirement, beneficiary and name changes in New World and TCDRS.
- Assists employees with inquiries related to Texas County & District Retirement System (TCRS) accounts as needed
- Responds to all Verification of Employment Requests in a timely manner.
- Reviews, modifies, and maintains job descriptions for all positions in Guadalupe County.
- Responsible for maintaining legal compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations, and updating posters throughout county buildings/departments.
- Observes confidentiality of all human resources information.
- Works with the Employee Benefits Administrator on all wellness programs.
- Engage employees in wellness activities to promote health and wellness in the workplace
- Schedules annual wellness events (i.e. Health Fair, Biometric Screenings, Lunch-n-Learns, etc.).
- Administers employee Gym Membership Reimbursement program.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Regular attendance is essential. Must arrive at work on time, prepared to perform assigned duties and work assigned schedule. Employee must have the ability to work well with others. Employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of themselves and others. ACCEPTALE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
Graduation from High School or a General Education Development (GED) certificate is required. At least two years of human resources experience is preferred.
