General Statement of Function
Performs a variety of administrative and staff support duties for the Ridgeland Campus. The Receptionist greets and interacts with the general public and students both in person and via telephone, providing directions and information about Holmes Community College.
Job Description
1. Primary responsibility is to receive and route incoming switchboard calls for Holmes Community College Ridgeland campus. Must be able to operate a multi-line telephone system and handle a high volume of inbound calls at times efficiently and accurately.
2. Greets and interacts with visitors and students to give directions, information and printed material about Holmes Community College.
3. Provides administrative support and assistance to the Maintenance Department, Campus Public Safety as well as staff or faculty when needed.
4. Enters requisitions, files and processes purchase orders as needed.
5. Obtains quotes for materials and campus jobs. Files and processes as needed.
6. Takes payments for student accounts and updates student records. Ability to maintain confidentiality is a must.
7. Exhibit excellent organizations and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks. Be able to multi-task while maintaining the highest quality of work.
8. Schedule meetings, reserving conference room or classrooms when requested. Maintaining and updating the campus wide events calendar.
9. Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
10. Maintaining the office’s filing system and recording information received.
11. Work with outside agencies to gather information and coordinate efforts when directed.
12. Be able to communicate with potential job applicants, schedule interviews and prepare necessary folders paperwork for the interview committee.

13. Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Associate degree preferred or high school diploma or GED; at least 2-3 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

- Records maintenance skills.

- Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
