Purchasing Manager Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have: Associate’s Degree in Business or related field and 2 years of relevant experience
General Responsibilities: The Purchasing Manager is responsible for the daily ordering, tracking and reconciling of goods and services required through Central Purchasing. Leads efforts of Purchasing Associate(s).
Responsibilities:
1. Establish and maintain central purchasing and tracking system.
2. Coordinate product/services tracking and payment history with Finance Department.
3. Make use of buying groups when possible.
4. Place orders for goods and services acquired through Central Purchasing system.
5. Make periodic price comparisons on current vendors in the Central Purchasing system.
6. Meet vendors as needed.
7. Discuss procurement of new vendors with Business Manager.
8. Interact with the Business Manager and Finance Department in order to advise of changes in product, services, or billing.
9. Assist in procurement of new equipment and specialty products.
10. Issue and maintain grocery cards, set up new accounts.
11. Set-up new programs (utilities, services), transfers, closings.
12. Oversee lawn care/snow removal contracts.
13. Report and track appliance repair.
14. Order and distribute cellular communication equipment and audit billing.
15. Report phone repairs and audit phone bills.
16. Set up an emergency stay list and make reservations when needed.
17. Monitor contracted housekeeping personnel and cleaning supplies used in the office building.
18. Ensure implementation of all bidding, auditing, tracking and compliance processes.
19. Monitor expenditures for discrepancies and work to reduce expenses across all areas of involvement.
20. Assigns tasks and leads efforts of Purchasing Associate(s).
