Position Overview: The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring goods and materials while managing supplier relationships and ensuring the best terms and quality. Additionally, this role requires strong inventory planning skills to maintain optimal stock levels and support our business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Purchasing and Procurement:
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure high-quality products at competitive prices.
- Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods.
- Track, review, and analyze purchasing costs, terms, and conditions to optimize expenditure.
- Maintain supplier relationships, monitor performance, and resolve any issues related to supply chain disruptions or quality.
- Research and identify potential new suppliers to diversify sourcing options and mitigate supply chain risk.
- Inventory Planning and Management:
- Develop and implement inventory planning strategies to align with forecasted demand and business objectives.
- Regularly monitor stock levels, assess reordering needs, and adjust purchase quantities to avoid overstock or stockouts.
- Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to coordinate inventory flow and storage.
- Conduct periodic reviews and analysis of inventory turnover rates, lead times, and safety stock requirements.
- Implement and utilize inventory management software to track stock levels and manage forecasts.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Prepare reports on purchasing trends, cost analysis, and inventory performance to support strategic decision-making.
- Track key performance metrics related to purchasing and inventory, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and align procurement strategies accordingly.
Requirements:
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 3 years of experience in purchasing/procurement, with a strong background in inventory planning and management.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Solid understanding of inventory planning methodologies and purchasing best practices.
- Proficiency in inventory and purchasing software (e.g., ERP systems) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- High attention to detail, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with data analysis tools to support forecasting and trend analysis.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with demonstrated adaptability.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
