Maui Powerhouse Gym is seeking a dynamic and motivated Sales Trainer to lead and develop our personal training team in sales strategies. The Sales Trainer will be responsible for coaching trainers to successfully sell personal training packages, grow client bases, and drive revenue while ensuring that high-quality customer service and fitness standards are maintained. This position requires someone with strong sales acumen and the ability to mentor and guide trainers to achieve sales success. We are looking for either a contract position or a planned instructional period. There is room for continued employment based on organizational fit and results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Training & Coaching:
- Develop and deliver a structured sales curriculum based on sales strategies.
- Train staff on effective sales techniques, including handling objections, consultative selling, and closing techniques.
- Conduct role-playing exercises to help trainers practice sales conversations and build confidence.
- Provide personalized coaching and feedback to improve trainer performance in client acquisition and retention.
- Lead Generation & Conversion:
- Teach trainers how to generate leads both internally (within the gym) and externally (social media, community events).
- Educate trainers on building rapport, identifying client needs, and presenting training services in a compelling manner.
- Collaborate with the membership team to increase lead referrals and improve cross-selling opportunities.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Instruct trainers on best practices for nurturing long-term client relationships to increase retention rates.
- Provide training on how to upsell additional services, such as nutrition plans or specialized programs, to existing clients.
- Performance Monitoring:
- Track and analyze the sales performance of individual trainers to identify areas for improvement.
- Set sales goals with trainers and help them develop strategies to meet those goals.
- Provide ongoing feedback on progress and assist with adjustments to improve sales performance.
- Marketing & Personal Branding:
- Mentor trainers on how to market themselves effectively through social media, email campaigns, and word-of-mouth.
- Assist in the creation of personal trainer bios, promotional materials, and online content to attract potential clients.
- Educate trainers on the importance of personal branding and how to stand out in a competitive market.
- Administrative Duties:
- Maintain records of sales training sessions, individual trainer progress, and overall department performance.
- Collaborate with gym management to implement new sales initiatives and training programs.
- Provide weekly and monthly reports on sales metrics and the effectiveness of the sales training program.
Key Qualifications:
- Sales Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years in sales, with a strong focus on objective results and growth.
- Coaching and Mentoring:
- Proven experience coaching or mentoring individuals to improve their sales skills. Must be comfortable leading group training sessions and providing one-on-one coaching.
- Communication Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to convey sales techniques and strategies in a clear and engaging way to people with diverse life experiences and backgrounds.
- Customer Service Mindset:
- Strong focus on customer satisfaction and relationship-building. Able to guide trainers to create meaningful, long-lasting relationships with clients.
- Adaptability and Creativity:
- Must be able to tailor sales strategies to individual trainers and client needs, as well as keep up with changing industry trends.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
