MPS Group, Inc., is seeking a Human Resource Generalist to join our HR team at our Headquarters located in Farmington Hills, MI.
The Human Resources Generalist provides comprehensive human resources support to the organization and manages assigned human resources projects while ensuring compliance with labor laws, company policies and promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
Responsibilities and Job Duties:
- Maintain HR data integrity in all HR systems by ensuring the accuracy and consistency of data input.
- Develop and prepare HR metrics on a monthly basis or more frequently as requested.
- Prepare all scheduled reporting, as well as requested reports from others.
- Maintain HR handbook, policies, and procedures for U.S. and Canada.
- Educate employees about company policies and procedures.
- Conduct HR audits as assigned.
- Manage the performance management platform and process.
- Conduct exit interviews and develop ways to improve retention.
- Understand, gather, and disburse government labor statistics, new employment regulations, and labor laws.
- Prepare all government and outside party reporting requirements (EEO-1 report, etc.).
- Maintain HR intranet site to ensure information is updated and refreshed on a regular basis.
- Assist HR Director with investigations, employee relations issues, policy violations and legal matters.
- Assist Benefits Manager with benefit tasks and LOAs.
- Act as the backup when the Benefits Manager is away.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field
- Minimum 3 years of full Human Resources generalist experience including employee relations, benefits, metrics, performance management, HRIS, compliance and project management.
- Strong understanding of employment laws, regulations, and compliance practices.
- Experience working with a unionized workforce preferred.
- Experience working with a Canadian workforce preferred.
- Working knowledge of Human Resources software (Paycor experience is a plus).
- Strong ability to use Microsoft Office, especially excel.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, tasks and deadlines.
- High level of problem solving, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate through oral and written methods, while maintaining confidentiality.
- High level of integrity and professionalism, creating credibility and support to team members.
- Willingness to try new things and remain open to others ideas.
- The ability to work independently to complete required work/assignments.
