Temporary, Non-Union, Non-Exempt Position
$15.69-$16.00 per hour, Flexible Hours
BASIC FUNCTION OF ACCOUNTANT - INTERN:
To provide support to the Fiscal Department with financial and accounting operations. Assist with the implementation of modules of ERP system.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF ACCOUNTANT - INTERN:
- Assists in creating and entering budget into the ERP system.
- Assists with the implementation of modules of the ERP system.
- Assists with all accounting related to the general ledger, including entries, reconciliations, and program allocations.
- Assists with preparing financial reports and analyses.
- Adheres to fiscal policies and procedures regarding Agency approval and authority guidelines.
- Inputs and reconciles financial data in the Agency systems; identifies any discrepancies impacting Agency assets and exposure.
- Works with members of the fiscal team to meet funder parameters and requirements.
- Pursues personal professional development in accounting and systems technology.
- Works with other members of the Fiscal Department answering questions and providing guidance as needed. Participates in and shares information on department projects.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS OF ACCOUNTANT - INTERN:
Education:
High School Diploma and attending institution of higher learning - studying Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance.
Experience:
Similar work experience that fulfills the above description.
Job Skills:
- Accounting and financial management skills, based on generally accepted accounting principles.
- Analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and meet established timeframes and accounting schedules.
- Good communication skills.
- Organizational, record keeping and reporting skills.
- Strong computer skills, including excel, word, and financial systems.
