What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cashier/Inventory Receiving Clerk position at Orlando Freightliner?
Receives cash, checks, credit cards, and other forms of payment from customers or employees in payment or deposits for goods or services on invoices or repair orders, by performing the following duties.
Cross Training to
Orders parts and posts parts in in-house business system, codes vendor invoices for accounts payable department, responsible for tracking vendor credits for parts and cores returned to vendors, tracks and reviews all open purchase orders and receiving records.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Collects cash, credit cards, & checks from customers purchasing parts or paying for
repairs on vehicles
Processes all money collected during the night shift
Balances cash, credit cards, & checks, with appropriate tickets
Processes credits and refunds for all items returned to the store
Collects money from cash tickets that are delivered but not paid
Attends all calls pertaining to credits or payments
Checks invoicing, making sure that the information is complete and accurate
Checks currency, makes and gives correct change, and issues receipts or tickets to customers
Verifies checks and credit cards and obtains proper I.D. information
Balances cash register writes up invoice cash ledger. Prepares and sets up cash box for night and Saturday shifts. Ensures that there is a adequate amount of change available
Processes all parts orders for parts department.
Maintains all paperwork such as orders, packing slips and returns awaiting vendor invoices and credits.
Inspects all documents, reconciling sales order documents and approved requisitions to received invoices.
Ensures that parts are posted into inventory system.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE & TRAINING
Computer and cash register experience and literacy required. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, policies, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English. Ability to speak in English effectively before individuals, groups of customers, or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Florida Operators' Drivers License. Must maintain insurability for business purpose vehicle operations.
