What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Generalist II position at Pacific Tank Lines?
The position of the Human Resources Generalist II is a Mid-level position that performs necessary tasks under the supervision of the Controller and CEO. The purpose of this position is to process and maintain employee documentation and benefit administration within required deadlines and process bi-weekly payroll. This position requires maintaining confidential information and interacts with several employees.
The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Entering new hire paperwork into HR systems.
Processing Bi-Weekly Payroll thru Paychex
Activate employees to websites.
Assist with new hire orientation.
Make employee personnel files.
Scan, archive and file employee documents.
Update employee information.
Make employee company ID's.
Enter & update employee information into benefits site.
Review and reconcile benefits.
Breakdown benefit amounts by departments on spreadsheet.
Provide benefit changes to administrators.
Assist with fixing clock in/out punches.
Complete employment verifications forms.
Other misc. duties assigned by the Controller and CEO.
Qualification Requirements
Type 40 WPM
Organized
Payroll experience required at least 1 year
Paychex experience required at least 1 year
Human Resources experience required at least 1 year
Excel experience required at least 1 year
Ability to multi-task
Deadline oriented
Able to work independently & as a team
Knowledge of modern office procedures
Ability to pass pre employment physical, drug and background check
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Excel, MS Office/Outlook, Word. Must have 1-2 years of related Office Experience. Knowledge of benefits is a plus. 1 year of paychex payroll experience required. 1 year of Human Resources experience required.
