Summary:
Performs a full range of complex professional, financial, systems, statistical, programmatic, management, policy analyses, and other administrative activities regarding legislative and policy priorities, including research and analysis, writing, and cross-departmental coordination. Provides support to the Human Services Administrative team and facilitates discussion with the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC).
Examples of Essential Duties:
- Provides high-level administrative support; serves as liaison and performs outreach to other departments and the community; manages calendars, schedules meetings, and organizes special events. Drafts and edits correspondence, reports, and other materials and distributes accordingly.
- Coordinates, leads and participates in a variety of special projects including planning and implementation of complex research programs and services.
- Develops, researches, analyzes, evaluates, and provides recommendations regarding the effectiveness of programs and operations in meeting established goals, objectives, and priorities; prepares program status reports for review.
- Works with Human Services leadership and the BOCC to develop and maintain policy strategies and activities for Local, State, and Federal legislative issues.
- Participates and collaborates in strategic planning and provides support for internal county planning efforts, external public processes, and other projects and initiatives as needed.
- Represents the Human Services Department, County, and other jurisdictions, vendors, or organizations on matters of County priority.
- Coordinates, facilitates and participates in various County cross-departmental working teams.
- Assists in the development of the Human Services Department budget; conducts research and analysis to support budgeting.
- Prepares and presents to the BOCC as it relates to projects, policies, grants, budgets, and other areas of importance.
- Supports the relationship between Pitkin County government and partner organizations and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with citizens, visitors, and County staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and County information; performs other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Public Administration highly preferred.
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree required in Public Administration and 1 year related professional, public sector experience;
- Additional related education or experience may count towards required education/experience.
- Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.

Salary : $72,000 - $126,000
