The Senior Reliability Engineer is responsible for monitoring and improving the reliability of production and packaging equipment and support systems. This position applies engineering concepts to study, evaluate, optimize and manage assets, systems or components to ensure they perform to its required function under stated conditions for a specified period of time. The primary responsibilities are to ensure that maintenance techniques are repeatable, effective, that equipment is designed and modified to improve maintainability, that ongoing maintenance technical problems are investigated, and appropriate corrective and improvement actions are reviewed and implemented. This position routinely investigates systems, component and equipment failures and determines corrective and preventive measures. This position is greatly involved in line performance projects to include capital equipment and system upgrades, modifications, trouble shooting and emergency repairs.
Estimated starting annual base salary is $126,550.56 - $189,825.85 per year less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a bi-weekly basis. Please note that the actual compensation offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined by the Company, which may include, but is not limited to, location, experience, qualifications, education, skillset, and market conditions. The target base compensation for this role is in the low to middle of the range, with the top of the range reserved for only exceptional circumstances. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary, variable annual incentive, paid based on Company performance factors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities |
- Monitor equipment trends including all moving/rotating components and implement needed preventive/ predictive maintenance as needed.
- Develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and other problems that adversely affect equipment performance to include capacity, quality, cost, or regulatory compliance issues.
- Evaluate effectiveness of Preventive Maintenance (PM).
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) or Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).
- Support investigations, participate and complete corrective/preventative actions (CAPAs) based on root cause analysis, and remediate audit observation response items.
- Support risk management initiatives to ensure organizational strategic objectives in the areas of asset capability, quality, and production.
- Perform Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Scope, plan, and execute multiple projects simultaneously.
- Understand functionality and be familiar with computerized maintenance management system or asset management systems.
Required Qualifications |
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering or related field.
- 5 years of experience as a reliability engineer, process engineer, continuous improvement engineer, maintenance engineer/manager or related discipline
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):
- Ability to perform statistical analysis to determine root causes.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and independent decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook and Word.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Must be able to demonstrate practical problem solving and trouble shooting skills. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Preferred Qualifications |
- Master’s degree in engineering or related field.
- Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing certification.
- Project Management certification (PMP, etc.).
- Knowledge of FDA Regulations, failure investigation principles and/or statistical principles and analysis.
