Job Summary:
SPL is growing and is currently looking for a Organics Analyst in Houston, TX. The Organics Analyst must be proactive, team oriented and goal driven. The primary purpose of this position is to be responsible for performing gas chromatographic analysis and/or Ion Chromatography using commercially available gas chromatographic instrumentation in accordance with prescribed methods and standard operating procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the entire analytical process, from sample preparation through data analysis using state-of-the-art analytical equipment such as IC, GC and GCMS;
- Become familiar with chromatographic analytical equipment and software, including Chem-station, Target, or other commercially available chromatography data systems and our in-house laboratory information management system;
- Interpret samples and data.
- Participate in SOP development;
- Maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment;
- Document activities and prepare reports and records on calibration, inspection, and repair activities in a concise and accurate manner;
- Solve analysis problems as needed;
- Other duties as assigned.
- Prior experience with Agilent instrumentation, EPA methods (using GC and GC-MS), and routine to complex analytical techniques;
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed.
Education:
High school diploma or GED required. Bachelors Degree is strongly preferred.
Relocation:
This position is not eligible for relocation.
Travel Requirements:
This position does not require travel.
Work Schedule:
This position will work 8 hours, Monday-Friday in the Kilgore, TX Office. This position is subject to overtime availability to meet deadlines.
