Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Recreation Supervisor - Special Events. The Recreation Supervisor - Special Events reports to the Parks & Recreation Business Manager. The primary job duties of this position include:
- Provide leadership, management, and vision for the Business division and create a culture to support strategies established by the executive leadership team.
- Establish, promote and foster a team environment and effective working relationships with the parks and facilities work groups. Also work with other departments, management, boards and commissions, Town Council, community groups, business partners, event patrons and the media to include administering effective communication through daily email, phone conversations, regular meetings and site visits.
- Provide customer service, assistance and information pertaining to events, policies and services; exercise conflict resolution skills to resolve sensitive personnel and/or customer issues including guiding staff on how to achieve productive outcomes for all parties when possible while making sure Town Code and/or personnel policies are adhered to; exercise discretion and implement changes as appropriate.
- Interview, hire, train, supervise, guide and evaluate full-time division staff; process and approve employee payroll and contract employee payroll; exercise conflict resolution, listening and communication skills to process employee concerns and problems, direct the work of others, counsel, discipline and conduct performance reviews

About You

- Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Business Management, or related course work.
- Three years of experience supervising recreation programs or events, staff, and resources.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
