We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team.

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in managing the financial activities of our construction projects. This individual will be responsible for the month-end close process, payroll processing, journal voucher entries, account reconciliations, and managing both income and sales and use tax. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a strong preference for those with a background in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Month-End Close: Oversee and manage the month-end close process, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported.
• Payroll Processing: Administer payroll functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of employee salaries and wages, benefits, and tax withholdings.
• Journal Vouchers: Prepare and review journal vouchers, ensuring all entries are accurate and comply with accounting standards.
• Account Reconciliations: Perform regular account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
• Tax Management: Handle all aspects of tax compliance, including income tax and sales and use tax. Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports, providing insights and recommendations to management.
• Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Support budgeting and forecasting activities, providing financial insights to aid in decision-making.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and relevant laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Trimble, Viewpoint, HCSS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with payroll processing and tax compliance.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA or CMA certification.
• Experience with construction-specific accounting software (e.g., Procore, Viewpoint).
• Knowledge of construction contracts, job costing, and project accounting.
