The Shipping Supervisor will oversee the inbound operations, manage inventory control, and ensure efficient materials handling in a warehouse setting. This position will be responsible for managing the warehouse team, ensuring efficient inventory management, and maintaining a safe and organized working environment.

Requirements

• Supervise, train, and develop Shipping & Receiving department personnel to provide quality workmanship, knowledge of the plant quality system, and a strong safety program.
• Monitor the quality system by ensuring that all loading procedures are current, up to date, and are being followed by the employees.
• Create and maintain schedule of daily loading activities using all resources available.
• Direct packaging, identification, and shipping of product to ensure the material is received in good condition.
• Develop ongoing relationships with customer service, carriers, and our customers.
• Arrange the day-to-day record keeping and administrative functions relating to the Shipping & Receiving employees (absenteeism, vacation schedules, work schedules, overtime records, and accident reports).
• Arrange the Shipping & Receiving Department’s day-to-day record keeping relating to equipment calibrations, equipment, work orders, and equipment maintenance and repair.
• Coordinate with the production department to maximize production yield while meeting customer needs.
• Assure continued compliance of ISO 9001 and ISO14001 certifications.
• Assist in assurance of compliance with all appropriate regulatory agencies.
• Actively enforce all plant safety programs and policies.
• Provide leadership for continued improvement in efficiencies and quality.
• Complete other duties as assigned by supervision.
  
  

Required Skills & Competencies

• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong Communication skills.
• Experience with MRP or ERP systems.
• Previous experience with safe operation of forklift.
• Previous experience with stretch-wrap equipment.
• Must be able interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to calculate mathematical values.
• Must be knowledgeable in warehousing procedures.
• Ability to give attention to detail is a must.
  
  

Required Education & Experience

• 2-5 years of experience working as a Shipping Supervisor in a manufacturing setting.
• High School Diploma required. Language (Spanish and English) – Preferred.
• Experience handling larger equipment preferred.
• Experience managing warehouse space.
• Demonstrated ability to supervisor a team.
• Lean Manufacturing knowledge.

• Requires walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing, pulling bending, and crouching.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
