We are currently partnered with a world-leading research center in Germany developing cutting-edge next-generation products across optical communications. The team is looking to expand its headcount with a Optical Design Researcher to lead cutting-edge research in optical communication, sensing, and display technologies.

This is a permanent opportunity based onsite in Jena, Germany.

Key Responsibilities for this Optical Design Researcher position:

• Conduct research on optical wireless communication, display, sensing, and imaging systems.
• Develop innovative solutions through system simulation and prototyping.
• Stay updated with emerging optical technologies and industry trends.
• Publish research in top conferences and journals.

Key Requirements:

• PhD in Optics, Optical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience designing optical systems for telecom, automotive, or industrial applications.
• Strong knowledge of geometrical, diffractive, and physical optics.
• Proficiency with Zemax, LightTools, CodeV, VirtualLab; Python or MATLAB is a plus.
