Job Summary
The IT Technician will be responsible for maintaining the computer systems, hardware, and network infrastructure across Ohk Energy’s operations. This role supports end users, troubleshoots technical issues, and assists with the implementation of IT projects and security measures. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a strong technical foundation and great communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for hardware, software, and networking issues across the organization
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment
- Monitor and maintain network systems, ensuring uptime, performance, and security
- Assist with system backups, updates, and data recovery tasks
- Respond to and resolve helpdesk requests in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain documentation for IT systems, configurations, and user guides
- Support onboarding of new employees with IT setups and system access
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to remote access, VPNs, and mobile devices
- Assist in the implementation of IT policies, procedures, and cybersecurity protocols
- Work with external vendors for equipment purchases and service support when needed
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in IT support or technician role
- Strong understanding of Windows and Mac operating systems, Microsoft 365, and common business applications
- Knowledge of networking concepts and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently or as part of a team
- Certifications such as CompTIA A , Network , or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) are a plus
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting hybrid or remote work environments
- Familiarity with ERP systems, cloud services, and virtualization technologies
- Previous experience in the energy or utility sector is a plus
