The Fleet and Safety Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation and safety of Southeast Building Supply Interests (SBSI). This individual will be responsible for managing the company's fleet of vehicles, maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and spearheading safety initiatives that protect employees, customers, and assets.
In this role, the Fleet and Safety Manager will oversee all aspects of fleet maintenance and optimization, ensuring vehicles are operationally sound and cost-efficient while staying compliant with FMCSA and DOT regulations. This includes managing preventive maintenance schedules, coordinating vehicle repairs, ensuring accurate and timely tag renewals and registrations, and analyzing fleet performance data to improve efficiency.
On the safety side, the Fleet and Safety Manager will lead SBSI's efforts to build a robust safety culture. This includes developing and implementing role-specific training programs, conducting workplace and facility safety inspections, and ensuring compliance with OSHA standards. Additionally, the Manager will oversee the activities of the company's safety committee, manage the upkeep and annual review of safety documentation (e.g., Safety Handbook), and collaborate with facility managers to maintain a safe working environment.
This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented leader who can manage multiple priorities while driving results.
