Our client is a non-profit organization. They seek a Grants Accountant to join their Manhattan, NY office.
Responsibilities
- Analyze monthly expenditures of federal, state, and local grants
- Handle budget to actual reporting on government grants and contracts
- Plan and prepare annual budget modifications, as needed
- Prepare monthly closing entries and requests for reimbursement
- Liaise regularly with the applicable funding sources
- Review grant-funded program profit and loss statements and variance analysis
- Journal entries for grant personnel, fringe benefits, and OTPS expenditures
- Complete grant closeouts and adjust entries, as needed
- Maintain and update budget information in the general ledger
- Prepare periodic analyses to estimate projected annual spending
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 2 years of accounting experience
- Non-profit industry background
- Experience with NYC and government contracts
- Analytical and detail-oriented
- Skilled in MS Office Suite
- Familiar with Intacct software
