What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cannabis Trim Manager position at ABC?
The Trim Manager is responsible for overseeing daily cannabis trimming and harvest operations during the post-life stages of plant, from harvest to final cure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Motivate Trim/Harvest team by providing updated production goals to be met and exceeded.
- Maintain an up-to-date Harvest/Trimming schedule and production plan that is used daily to prioritize current batches through processing.
- Provide coaching and development opportunities to team.
- Manage inventory of harvested cannabis material throughout the Harvest/Trim process: wet trim, dry room, cure, dry trim, etc.
- Assign tasks to team members/provide training on group projects (double check everyone’s work) make sure weekly trim reviews are sent, and feedback is given.
- One to two daily quality checks (trimmed buds and trim/smalls bag)- give feedback, positive and negative to team members.
- Enforce trimmed material weigh-outs.
- Update trim team when receiving information about harvests, pruning, and any changing assignments.
- Approve or deny time off requests, report no call no shows, excessive leaving early etc.
- Maintain supply availability (scissors, alcohol, tray, lighting, etc.)
- Collect, analyze, interpret, and present data for leadership review, coordinating with Data Analytics as needed.
- Monitor and maintain the optimal dry room environmental conditions.
- Maintain the Harvest productivity tracking system through each stage of the process to measure efficiency, performance, and report on success.
- Delegate duties to harvest staff to ensure environmental controls and product quality are appropriately maintained.
- Ensure that all QC/QA protocols are being followed and maintained.
- Report on daily progress, updates, and projections.
- Follow all rules and regulations for harvest and inventory management including wet weight measurements, dry weight measurements, and harvest batch requirements as set by the State and municipality in which we operate.
- Ensure all State rules and regulations are being followed by manager, leads, and Harvest/Trim team.
- Trim with the Harvest/Trim Team when necessary.
- Follow closing procedures of the shop.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Pay Structure:
- $110 per pound trimmed
- $20 per hour for hourly-based tasks
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3 years' experience working in a high-volume production facility or within a cannabis cultivation facility.
- 2 years' previous management/supervisory experience in a regulated field that adheres to health and safety policies and procedures required.
- 1 year(s) of trimming experience.
- Comfortable with heights, soil and water, and tight spaces.
- Able to climb, squat, bend, twist, stand for at least 8 hours per day, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be 21 years of age or older, and able to successfully register with the state's cannabis commission as an agent.
- Must be able to comply with all laws, regulations, and policies associated with the industry.
- OLCC Marijuana Permit
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 year(s) of management/supervisory experience in the cannabis industry preferred.
- Operations or performance improvement skill sets preferred.
- Previous experience in agriculture, horticulture, or related fields is a plus.
Physical and Mental Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position, move and/or position oneself, communicate, operate and/or prepare, place, position objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally move packages weighing up to 50 lb. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close observation and the ability to adjust focus.
