What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coordinator of Adult Education Volunteers-Berlin position at Above the Notch Community School?
This position was established for the purpose of providing initial intake, assessment, placement and monitoring services for students in the Adult Education Literacy Program (AEL) to include English Secondary Language and the HiSET Chief Examiner.
1. Facilitates the tutors in ESL including recruitment of volunteers; training of volunteers; establishment of student goals and a tutorial schedule; provision of curriculum materials; provision of assessments/support for progress monitoring; and reporting of hours for the purpose of ensuring adherence to established academic.
2. Acts as HiSET Chief Examiner, establishing a testing schedule and publicizing testing events; monitoring test security procedures and requirements; and collecting data for state reporting for the purpose of ensuring adherence to established testing policies, procedures and standards for overall efficient testing operations.
3. Provides support for volunteer tutors in the form of training opportunities, phone consultations, in-person visits, and other communications.
