We are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Business Office team. This position is essential to maintaining the financial integrity of our district and ensuring timely, accurate processing of vendor invoices and payments. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, and share our commitment to serving our students and community.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to district financial policies and procedures.
- Match invoices to purchase orders and ensure compliance with budgeting and expense classification guidelines.
- Route invoices for necessary approvals and enter data into the district’s accounting system ( Skyward ).
- Prepare monthly board reports and ensure timely electronic or check payments to vendors.
- Maintain detailed records such as invoice logs, payment tracking, and reconciliation of vendor statements.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies with vendors and internal departments.
- Support overall financial compliance and reporting by preparing accounts payable reports and assisting with audit processes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; associate’s degree in accounting preferred.
- Minimum of two years of accounts payable experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Skyward, and a strong understanding of school district financial procedures and GAAP.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to interact with vendors and staff.
