Job Description:
The Import Operations and Customs Coordinator will handle import logistics, ensure compliance with trade regulations, and manage key documentation for international shipments. This role requires collaboration with various departments and the ability to adapt to evolving priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Resolve import-related issues in partnership with the logistics department.
- Support sales, customer care, and marketing teams with import inquiries.
- Use product templates to classify products with HTS codes and ECCN numbers; update SAP material master records.
- Review and validate invoices and shipping documents for compliance.
- Analyze customs forms (e.g., 7501) for accuracy and coordinate corrections with brokers.
- Prepare documentation for international drop shipments.
- Process freight claims for both domestic and international carriers.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 1 year of customs or trade compliance experience.
- Industry Background: Experience in manufacturing or distribution preferred.
- Education: High school diploma required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel; experience with SAP or AS400 is a plus.
