What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Specialist position at AERI?
AERI is looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for timely and accurate weekly payroll processing. This includes maintaining confidential employee data, handling payroll questions, and completing tasks necessary to monitor and oversee the payroll process. The Payroll Specialist works in conjunction with HR and reports to the Controller. The ideal candidate will be ADP certified in Workforce Now and will have at least 2 years of experience in construction payroll including certified payroll reporting, training tax, prevailing wage, and adhering to union contracts.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of weekly payroll
- Enter time data from an external timekeeping system
- Calculate incremental changes
- Communicate with managers to verify timesheet data
- Maintain computer files in an orderly fashion
- Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality
- Support AR billing specialist approximately 10 hours per week.
Skills:
- ADP certification preferred
- Intermediate level in Excel - prepare downloaded time clock data for ADP upload
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Understanding of human resources policies, procedures, and labor law
- Experience in reporting certified payroll, training tax, and prevailing wage
- Aptitude in problem solving
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
