Purpose
The Accountant is responsible for the day to day accounting transactions, internal controls and adherence to accounting principles/procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The position will report to the Controller and partner with other departments to provide business analysis.

Responsibilities
Period End Accounting Functions
Period End Accounting Functions
- Responsible for preparing monthly journal entries and reconciliations along with other Accountants
- Assist the Senior Accountant in preparing monthly financial statements and variance explanations
- Gather reports and information to support the bank audit, interim audit and year-end financial audit
- Collaborate with other Finance team members to develop a robust set of accounting policies and procedures for the business
Fixed Asset Accounting
- Coordinate with external partner for monthly additions, disposals and depreciation impacts within fixed asset subsidiary ledger and post appropriate monthly entries
- Ensure fixed asset accounting is in accordance with established internal Company policy
Operations Support
- Prepare Daily Cash Flow report to assess daily line of credit requirements
- Monitor and respond to operational issues elevated to Finance mailbox with appropriate response no more than 48 hours upon receipt
- Execute on approved Sales Affiliate invoice revision requests within 24 hours of receipt
- Provide financial support to Operations in relation to owners loans/advances, Due
- To/Due From analysis and other charges on Owner Collection Reports
- Provide back up to Associate Accountant for execution of daily invoice runs and weekly commission reports
Sales Tax
- Facilitate the quality review of Sale Affiliate invoices for proper sales tax liabilities
- Monthly generation and review of sales tax reporting for Franchise Owners
- Assist the Senior Accountant with monthly and quarterly state sales and use tax filings
Financial Analysis
- Analyze G/L accounts to identify variances and identify areas for cost improvements
- Support Controller with data analysis as assigned
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor degree in Accounting
- Experience in sales tax is a plus
- Experience must include knowledge of accounting related functions
- Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

- Knowledge of general accounting principles and practices
- Experience with multi-state sales tax analysis and reporting
- Intermediate / advanced Microsoft Excel skills
