Position Summary
Special missions require special aircraft. Heavy Aircraft Integrated Avionics Maintainers in the Air Force maintain systems for aircraft that use airlift, refueling tanker aircraft and bombers. Our Maintainers not only work on the physical plane but also the crucial lifesaving technology inside the aircraft—computer systems like surveillance, attack control, flight control, navigation, networking systems and more.
Primary Responsibilities
- Remove, install, align, modify and check all integrated avionics systems components.
- Ensure all software and firmware is up to date.
- Make sure cryptographic components are controlled and maintained.
- Perform intermediate or organizational maintenance-level modifications.
- Inspect integrated avionics systems, determine operational status, and maintain inspection and maintenance records.
