Job Title: Desktop Support Specialist
Employment Type: Long term contract, possible extension/conversion
Location: Dallas, TX – Onsite w/ travel to other DFW locations
Salary Range: $30-35 per hour
Summary:
Akkodis is seeking a Desktop Support Specialist for a contract position based in Dallas, TX. This job will be an onsite role and will require travel to other DFW cities. The desired candidate will have 7 years of desktop support experience. This support specialist will be part of the service team and provide general technology support including PC Refresh, set up and configuring end user equipment for new sites and training activities, etc.This is an exciting role with an industry leader!!!

Responsibilities:
- Travel to pre-scheduled locations as part of the support team
- Address common technical issues, assist in retrieving decommissioned assets, provide needed technical training and technology best practices
- Troubleshoot & resolve Windows 10 and Windows 11 upgrade issues
- Independently resolve complex, break/fix issues in person or via telephone
- Troubleshoot Windows and Mac OS issues.
- Perform installations, replacements, upgrades, and other hardware/software related tasks as needed
- Re-image end-user devices as required
- Support end user queries/issues as it relates to Windows 11 new features when/if required
- The successful candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, deep technical knowledge in the required fields, critical thinking, self-starter, as well as exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Assist with creating FAQs and Support documentation on lessons learned
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 7 years’ experience in desktop hardware, operating systems, smartphones, and printers.
- 7 years’ experience in Microsoft products (Windows, Office, Outlook, etc.)
- A Certification or other similar Microsoft certifications a plus
- Experience supporting OS upgrades such as Windows 10 and Windows 11
- Basic knowledge of network hardware including firewalls, routers, access points, bridges, switches, patch panels a plus
- Hands-on troubleshooting experience with the ability to perform under intense scrutiny
- Working technical knowledge of current protocols, operating systems, and standards
- Strong written and oral communication skills with a focus on executive level support
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail
- Self-motivated and directed, with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Strong customer-service orientation with a focus on customer satisfaction
- Highest degree of professionalism and integrity
- Ability to research and test new technologies and solutions
- Time management and organizational skills
