Position Overview:
This is a working leadership role that requires a balance of production oversight, people management, and operational troubleshooting. The Plant Manager will be responsible for overall production performance and facility operations, working closely with the owners and a dedicated shipping/receiving coordinator. In our small but busy plant, you’ll be expected to step into various roles as needed — from maintenance and scheduling to team leadership and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily plant operations, including both pallet manufacturing and assembly departments.
- Manage production schedules to meet customer demands while maintaining quality and profitability.
- Supervise and support production staff, including training, coaching, and performance management.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and maintain OSHA documentation, injury reports, and compliance logs.
- Conduct regular safety audits and enforce all workplace safety and health policies.
- Provide hands-on support across departments as needed — including maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, and occasional forklift operation.
- Coordinate with the shipping & receiving coordinator to ensure smooth logistics and inventory flow.
- Collaborate with company ownership on process improvements, staffing, and facility needs.
- Assist with hiring and onboarding new production team members.
Tools & Equipment:
- Familiarity with and ability to safely operate high-volume nail guns, glue guns and pots, staple guns, panel saws, and forklifts is required.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in plant, production, or operations management, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to assist with basic maintenance and equipment troubleshooting.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of OSHA standards and regulatory compliance.
- Forklift experience (certification preferred).
- Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure in a small, fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable being hands-on and stepping into frontline work when necessary.
Work Environment & Physical Demands: This is a physically active role in a busy industrial setting. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work on your feet for extended periods, and navigate indoor/outdoor plant conditions.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,171.00 per year
