As a key member of our team, you will be instrumental in meeting departmental deadlines, including month-end closing schedules, informational requests, surveys, timely account reconciliations, internal/external reporting, capitalizing assets, documentation, and other tasks as assigned. You will also play a crucial role in preparing supporting documents for the annual audited statements and monthly financial statements, along with variance analysis of budget to actual results. Your findings will be presented to management at the monthly variance meetings.

Departmental Responsibilities- Calculating and processing monthly journal entries within the assigned time frame, and inputting approved entries into the GL system.
- Reviewing ledger results to ensure accuracy.
- Preparing assigned account reconciliations and inputting LDCA’s into the GL system.
- Creating purchase orders and reviewing invoices as assigned.
- Reviewing UConn Health employee reimbursements and processing them timely in accordance with established policies.
- Collaborating with the budget department during the annual budget process to ensure adequate funding.
- Reviewing and approving travel, mileage, and miscellaneous reimbursements in accordance with policy.
- Preparing month-end journal entries and financial statements.
- Conducting variance analysis.
- Serving as a backup staff person for the daily check process.
- Scanning documents for construction projects.
- Preparing purchase orders for leases and processing monthly payments.
- Maintaining an annual lease schedule.
- Reconciling short-term loans, tuition, and fees.
- Performing bank reconciliations.
- Processing LDCA’s.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
