JOB SUMMARY: The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of accounts receivable duties in accordance with established policies and procedures. This role ensures the accuracy and efficiency of operations, processes and monitors incoming payments, and secures revenue by verifying and posting receipts. The Accounts Receivable Specialist reports to the Accounting Supervisor.
PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Customer Service, Sales, and Shipping departments to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
- Processing: Accurately and timely process invoices, credits, and deposits.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile and review customer statements, following up on open items regularly to ensure accounts are current.
- Customer Relations: Maintain positive relationships with customers to keep accounts updated and address any issues promptly.
- Month-End Close: Prepare month-end close activities, including reconciliation of accounts receivable and journal entry processing.
- Record Keeping: Maintain appropriate digital files for accounts receivable.
- Deadlines: Ensure all processing, reporting, and project deadlines are consistently met.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Technical Skills: Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel, including the ability to create and manipulate spreadsheets.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and mathematical skills to accurately process financial data.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in processing and record-keeping.
- Experience: Prior experience in accounting and/or accounts receivable is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Software Proficiency: Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address and resolve discrepancies.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
- Customer Service: Demonstrated ability to maintain positive customer relationships and handle inquiries professionally.

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
