Payroll Administrative Assistant
8 hours per day, 260 days per year.
Reports to district Treasurer.
Compensation based on the Administrative Support Staff Salary Schedule.
Job Objectives: Assists the Treasurer with the management of financial records.
Qualifications:
High school diploma with administrative support experience desirable.
Excellent customer service, problem-solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Proficient computer skills (Microsoft office: Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
Pass all state background check requirements and maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Performs employee payroll and ancillary duties that facilitate the timely attainment of district objectives.
Properly interprets negotiated agreements as they pertain to payroll including salaries, wage rates, and benefits.
Closely collaborates with the Human Resources Department, EMIS and Records/Benefits.
Verifies employees are paid on the correct salary schedule/experience level.
Processes/distributes employee contracts and salary notices.
Verifies time sheets, calculates gross wages, and processes payrolls for all classified/certified staff .
Completes payroll reports and tax payments by required deadlines.
Maintains payroll records for all monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
Verifies employment inquiries (e.g. loan applications, etc.)
Processes employment services, worker compensation and unemployment reports.
Processes termination and retirement forms.
Provides payroll data/information as requested.
Assists with fiscal audit and GAAP-conversion information requests.
