Job Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented legal professional with experience in renewable energy, construction, or corporate law to support our legal team in handling contracts, regulatory compliance, and project-related legal matters. The ideal candidate will assist in managing agreements, conducting legal research, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and supporting corporate governance activities. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with project development, finance, and operations teams to facilitate the successful execution of renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Contract Management: Assist in drafting, reviewing, and maintaining legal agreements, including EPC contracts, subcontracts, power purchase agreements (PPAs), land leases, and NDAs.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and support compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to renewable energy project development and construction.
- Due Diligence Support: Assist in legal due diligence for project acquisitions, financing, and corporate transactions.
- Corporate Governance: Maintain corporate records, business licenses, and ensure timely filings with relevant regulatory bodies.
- Risk Management: Support risk assessments and legal analysis related to project execution, construction claims, and contract disputes.
- Legal Research: Conduct research on industry regulations, permitting requirements, and policy updates affecting renewable energy projects.
- Liaison with External Counsel: Coordinate with external legal counsel on litigation, permitting, regulatory filings, and corporate matters.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certification required.
- 3 years of experience in a paralegal role, preferably in renewable energy, construction, or corporate law.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, real estate transactions, and regulatory compliance in the renewable energy sector.
- Experience with solar, energy storage, or infrastructure projects is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with permits, zoning laws, and environmental regulations in renewable energy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, contract management software, and legal research tools.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with legal, finance, and project teams.
