Accountant I
Anniston, AL 36201
Contract for 12 months (1st shift)
$25-$28.51/hour
Job Duties:
- Handles a variety of accounting assignments including the preparation, analysis, review, verification and reconciliation of various records, financial reports and statements.
- Performs basic accounting tasks in general or specialized functions such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Cost Accounting, General Accounting, Fixed Asset Accounting and Payroll Accounting.
- Prepares Journal Entries and Reconciliations as related to assigned responsibility area.
- Prepares Tax reports and personal property tax returns Physically Audit Fixed Assets
- Prepares additions and disposals and applicable reports
- Prepares data for insurance reporting
- Prepares depreciation forecast for rates and budgets
- Manages capital request and monitors project spending
- Develops a thorough understanding of accounting modules within applicable ERP systems.
- Develops and maintains adequate procedures and work instructions for assigned activities.
- Maintains files and records according to records retention.
- Maintains required levels of confidentiality in handling of sensitive information. Other duties as assigned
Requirements:Work requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting plus 0 years’ experience.
- 1-3 years managing fixed assets
- Knowledge of computers and various software programs required.
- Must be conscientious and detail oriented.
- Must possess problem-solving skills.
- Must have good time management and communication skills
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks as well as changing priorities and responsibilities
- Skills Preferred:Prefer MAPICS XA experience
- Exceptional Microsoft Excel experience
- SAGE fixed asset software experience
Salary : $25 - $29
