What You'll Do
- Place purchase orders and resolve downstream issues with receiving, finance, and accounting
- Develop and execute supply plans that support the company's sales forecasts and business strategies, ensuring a smooth flow of material to manufacturing.
- Manage inventory levels to meet service level targets while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to support prototype requirements, execute against build milestones, and lead sourcing activities
- Collaborate internally, negotiate the right tradeoffs, solicit cooperation and resolve problems, and advance new supplier or product offerings
- Define, monitor and report key performance indicators in regard to performance to plan
- Support engineering & manufacturing to determine best sources
- Identify and execute cost reduction projects
- Negotiate commercial terms with suppliers to establish best-in-class pricing, quality, flexibility, delivery, payment, warranty, and service terms
- Monitor and analyze supplier performance data to ensure timely delivery, minimize supply chain disruptions, and identify areas of opportunity for expanding and/or consolidating the ASL
- Maintain procurement-related master data in the ERP system
- Own procurement process cradle-to-grave
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, or related technical field
- 5 years past experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in either a supply chain or production-related role where complex mechanical and/or electrical assemblies were built
- Ability to travel up to 20%
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
- Previous experience with technical procurement, especially PCBA and electronics sourcing
- Previous experience in defense, aerospace, automotive, high tech, or another related industry
- Strong technical ability to read technical documentation, such as drawings and CAD data, understanding of a variety of hardware manufacturing processes for both electronics (PCBAs, sensor hardware, etc.) and mechanical parts
- Familiarity with leading ERP systems and Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
- Proven leadership in driving and influencing other teams to a common goal. You know how to effectively communicate and collaborate cross functionally and with all levels within an organization
- Strong team player who can wear different hats to help your team move forward. Willing to tackle individual contributor tasks while managing a small team.
- You are fluent in other cross functional areas to fill gaps and remove roadblocks when needed.
