What are the responsibilities and job description for the Development Operations and Events Manager position at Arena Stage?
PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Development Operations and Events Manager is responsible for supporting daily entry of contributions, maintenance of financial and donor records, coordination of department research, provides primary events support and assists with departmental operations.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sustain daily gift entry.
- Maintain database integrity to ensure processes (i.e. acknowledgment processes) are retained.
- Maintain a system of records management, both electronic and paper, for all donors and prospects.
- Maintain and coordinate departmental research requests.
- Cross-departmental collaboration to maintain proper recognition of sponsorships.
- Events support, including invitation preparation, RSVP tracking, event material preparation, acknowledgments, day-of support, and leading smaller membership events.
- Support coordination of auction vouchers for local organizations.
- Operational support including expense tracking and financial reporting.
- Provide back-up in answering Donor Hotline.
- Assist members of the Development team with special projects.
- Proofreading and editing support for materials across the department.
- Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 2 years of development experience or demonstrably equivalent experience. Customer service experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Development and organizational operations.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Superior organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Empathetic and professional attitude in communicating with donors and patrons in person and virtually.
- CRM experience: Tessitura preferred.
- Ability to prioritize varied, simultaneous and time-sensitive projects to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Creativity, ability to learn quickly, excellent time management and organizational skills and careful attention to detail.
- Belief in the ability of theater to engage, entertain, educate and create social change.
- Ability to work occasional nights and weekends.
- Comfort in staffing high-profile events and functions.
- Ability to thrive in a very fast-paced work environment.
- Experience with handling confidential information in a discreet manner.
COMPUTER SKILLS UTILIZED
Tessitura; wealth screening tools; internet-based research tools; and Microsoft Office.
OTHER
Some evening and weekend work required.
Salary : $55,000 - $60,000
