Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Settlement Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our operations by managing the administrative tasks related to processing settlements in cases. This position requires a strong understanding of liens, subrogation interests, and letters of protection in the context of personal injury cases. We seek candidates with an attention to process, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions:
- Manage and coordinate all aspects of settlement administration from initial resolution through final disbursement.
- Identify, track and negotiate liens and subrogation interests with healthcare providers, insurers, workers compensation, child support, and government entities such as Medicare and Medicaid.
- Process and distribute settlement releases to clients, ensuring proper execution.
- Prepare detailed settlement distribution statements itemizing all funds, deductions, and net recovery.
- Maintain regular communication with defense counsel, insurance carriers, and clients
- Document all settlement-related activities in Filevine case management system
Required Skills & Experience:
- 3 years experience in personal injury settlement administration or as a business administrator
- Strong negotiation skills for lien resolution
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook
- Experience with legal case management software (Filevine preferred)
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple settlements simultaneously while meeting deadlines
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute settlement taskflows in Filevine, completing all assigned tasks promptly
- Update settlement forms tab with final payoff information from lien holders
- Track and document all reduction requests and accepted final payoffs
- Prepare and maintain settlement checklists to ensure compliance
- Generate and review settlement disbursement statements for accuracy
- Coordinate with accounting team on settlement fund distributions
- Maintain organized digital files of all settlement documentation
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Paralegal certificate a plus
Work Environment:
- Full-time position in fast-paced litigation environment
