The Human Resources (HR) Communications Specialist is a member of the Human Resources team based out of South San Francisco headquarters location. Reporting to the Director of Learning and Development, responsibilities include collaborating with all content leaders on developing and standardizing HR communications to ensure clear, consistent, compelling and timely messaging internally and externally. This role develops and maintains HR and payroll procedural documentation, communicates most current HR processes through various forums, and develops communication materials to support all areas of HR. The HR Communications Specialist collaborates with leadership to craft content that informs and engages employees while aligning with Aspiranet’s mission, values, and operational goals.

Your Skills And Duties
CORE ROLE AND FUNCTION
- Ensures all HR-related resources are accurate, accessible, easy to understand and up-to-date.
- Partners with leadership to assess communication needs and develop new material.
- Maintains employer branding accounts such as Glassdoor & Indeed.
- Develops and disseminates HR-related communications, including updates, announcements, and changes to policies and/or processes.
- Supports recruitment efforts by creating communication materials that highlight the agency’s values and employee experiences.
- Identifies opportunities to enhance HR processes and communication channels to improve employee understanding and engagement.
- Develops and maintains standard operating procedures and best practices to support the successful execution of HR projects and initiatives, ensuring consistency, clarity, and alignment across all HR functions.
- Monitors and assesses the effectiveness of internal communication initiatives, offering insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Supports engagement strategies by communicating about employee surveys, recognition programs, and agency events.
- Develops visually appealing internal communications, presentations, and guides to engage employees.
- Works closely with leadership to establish a consistent communication cadence and craft content that inspires and informs diverse audiences.
- Translates complex HR and payroll policies and compliance requirements into easily understandable language for employees.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFIC AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, marketing, public relations, human resources, business, or related field required.
- Minimum of two years of relevant work experience. Prior experience working for a nonprofit preferred.
- Exceptional written communication skills, with a specialty in crafting relevant, clear and compelling messages tailored to diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with various communication tools, platforms and software utilized within a business environment.
- Effective interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships across all levels of the agency.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint and commonly used software in the communications field.
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule of onsite two days per week.
- Meets all state required conditions of employment as set forth by Community Care Licensing i.e. Fingerprint and Child Abuse Index clearance, TB/Health and Physical.
